4) 10856 - A rare giant French giant gong striking carriage clock by Japy Frere circa 1890, in an Anglaise style case with Corinthium columns and Greek key style handle. The silver masked dial has inset painted Arabic numerals.

5) 10837 - An unusual quarter hour repeating carriage clock with alarm in a Cornich case made by the French manufacturer V. Reclus, circa 1870. This clock repeats the hours and quarters on two bells on demand.

6) 10835 - A French 8 day gong striking and repeating carriage clock in a Gorge case with original lever escapement. The movement stamped M.S. Circa 1875.

7)a) Left 10842 - A small Corniche cased striking French carriage clock, circa 1890. This clock standing only 4" high with original cylinder platform escapement.

7)b) Right 10854 - A Gorge cased striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm. The movement and dial signed J. Klaftenberger, 157, Regent Street. Circa 1860.
This clock was probably made by Henri Jacot for Klaftenberger who obtained most of his carriage clocks from Jacot. The clock bears a corresponding Jacot number 1577 for manufacture, circa 1860, with trademark arrows to the handset and alarm.

8) 10870 - A good quality French striking and repeating carriage clock, circa 1890, with fluted columns and filigree mounts, gilt brass trellis work overlay to the pink porcelain dial, with the chapter ring depicting a castle keep. This clock has its original platform escapement and is numbered 320.

9) 10884 - A French oval 8 day carriage clock with a serpentine handle, striking and repeating the hours on a bell with subsidiary alarm dial. Circa 1880.
The arrows to the back plate of this clock suggest that it was probably made by Margaine, Paris. A famous maker of carriage clocks who won a silver medal at the Paris Exhibition of 1889 and gold in 1900.
